Truck Safety and Inspection Best Practices!

DMV Truck Squads patrol Connecticut's highways looking for unsafe trucks, drivers and hazardous materials vehicles. They perform random safety checks, traffic enforcement on the highways and inspections at state weigh stations where you are subject to a Level 1 safety inspection, which is a detailed check of the driver, the vehicle, and its cargo. Be prepared! The roadside is not the place to learn that your trucks are not in compliance with state or federal laws!

Class size limited to 20.

Instructed by: Donald Bridge, Jr., Lieutenant CT Dept. of Motor Vehicles Commercial Vehicle Safety Division

Participants are introduced to the components of a fall protection system including body holding devices, anchorages, connectors and rescue.

Class size limited to 30.

Brought to you by: Capitol Safety, Certificate of completion for all attendees.

Scaffold Hazard Awareness Safety Class

In 2010 alone, OSHA reported 7,069 scaffolding violations in job sites across America with 37 workers dying in scaffold related incidents. This makes Scaffolding the second-most cited violation behind Fall Protection, and shows the need for proper safety training in this area of work.  This training will focus on the five most serious scaffold hazards. Falls, unsafe access, scaffold collapse, electrocution, and struck by falling objects. We will  define what these hazards are, how to recognize them and how to correct them.
